Hey Groups.....
I'm back after being away for quite some time.
I am considering going on a raw foods diet for a month or so. When I looked up discussions on here there was quite a bit of information. I'm just wondering if anyone can share how it went with them, if they felt it was worth the effort, if it gave them the desired results, any drawbacks??
Thanks for your input.

    hi there....

there is a gal on here that has been eating a vegan raw food diet since about April or so, she is now at a loss of 77+ lbs since joining MFP in Jan. her name is purrr, and she is a team member on the Smokin Hot Green Peppers, in the Motivation and Support Message Board. she knows tons about this and maybe she can help. it is very VERY healthy! good luck!

Thank you so much for the tip. I tried to find her but it says 'purrr' account is deactivated. Is she under a different user name perhaps???

I tried it and couldn't do it.

I felt icky and my blood sugar was all out of whack.

I need the fat and protein to keep my blood sugar in check.

There are plenty of foods that can give you all of the nutrients you need when your on a raw-food diet. The drawbacks?
    -willpower. it is hard.
-money. it is expensive, and the food is all perishable.
-creativity+time. You have to have time to shop particularly, cook, find ways to obtain the nutrients you need.

My god-mom went on a raw foods diet and lost over 100lbs. Her intention was also to kill the cancer, and she did. She has been in remission for 5+ years now and has kept the weight off while incorporating processed foods back into her diet (in moderation).
-Although she has no kids, makes 100k a year, and loves to cook. So, it wasn't as hard as it may be for someone who makes less money, has kids (who we all know love to eat hot dogs and mac n cheese), and someone who works and has to come home and tend to the family.

    I say try it out.

I do love my meat, and my bread and my cheese melted over everything!! lol....which is what has gotten me into this mess.
Now my health is at risk, so I'm looking for something that will be a sort of detox but still give me some volume, enough to keep me going through the day.
I may try it for a short period just to see how it goes.
Thanks everyone for your input. I truly appreciate it.
