I feel a binge coming on... SOS?

Okay, so it's weird that I'm recognising this coming instead of just diving in... so that's some progress right there!

I just have been really craving junk. Ridiculously. Should I have a "cheat day"? I don't know what to do... I feel like everything is moving so slowly... but it's more than that... I feel like I'm going to crack soon and just binge! :(

What should I do? I don't think "just don't binge" is really going to work here...

    Drink some fluid, sometimes these cravings can be your body telling you that you are a litte dehydrated. Drink at least 1ltr over the next 30 minutes, if you still feel hungry then eat something.

    Eat what you want now. If you eat a little of what you are craving now it might help you not binge on it, or anything else you really didn't want, later.
  • What are your current stats? Could You be being too restrictive?? Do you even need to lose weight at all?

    5'6" at 176lbs, wanting to lose about 44. 18 years old, eating 1,250 a day. Don't be confused by my profile picture! Hahaha it's not me :)

    How are your macros doing? Could you be missing some nutrient that your body is seeking by encouraging you to stuff yourself?

    Whenever I feel a binge coming on I usually plan for it. Like today. Ive been doing exellent all week! and Im feeling like I just wanna kick back. Its my sister-in -laws birthday on Saturday so I know we will be eating and drinking. So this is what I do.

    Today: stick to my diet and work out
    Tomorrow: even though it is my rest day work out and diet.
    Saturday: still work out but eat how I want (in moderation)

    Once you give yourself cheat/binge days you wont feel so deprived and you will still find yourself making healthy choices. Remember this is a lifestyle change Give yourself room for error. Good luck
  • How about go to skinnytaste.com and find a recipe of something simular to what your craving and just have that :)

    ^ this and if all else fails plan a day where you eat what you want in moderation. so count the calories and all that. :P

    If possible get away from food for the moment. I had a similar problem last night...all I wanted to do was eat. I kept opening the fridge. As I was about to grab something I asked myself: "Am I really hungry?" And no I wasn't! The next question was: "Why do I want to eat?" And that's the million dollar question!!

    Definately try drinking water...do you drink plain water or add something? I use Crystal Light Wild Strawberry.

    I know this isn't much help...sorry!

    Try to keep yourself busy and your mind occupied with something.

    You just started this journey. So my advice is don't do it. I think that maybe you might want to set some goals........and maybe one of them might be "break the habit of eating junk/break the craving cycle". The only way to break those cravings is to NOT give into them. If you cheat right now, you aren't really changing anything and I'd worry you'd be setting yourself up for failure.

    I know everyone is different, but I have seriously found the saying "it takes 3 weeks to make or break a habit" to be true. When I first started, I went "cold turkey" on junk food for over a month. After my weight loss was really going, and after I didn't really have seriously cravings, then I allowed myself some "bad" food here and there...........but not until I was at a point where I was confident it wouldn't derail my weight loss. And I'm honestly really glad I did it that way........it's been almost 6 months for me and I can honestly say I don't really have any cravings for anything bad for me anymore.

    You can do this!

    Be peckish, but not starving. If you're fresh from a reduced calorie diet, these days will be normal.

    Try warm tea.

    Warm foods/warm drinks will 'fill you up' and give you the satification of fullness that a meal will give you.

    Go for a walk and then search for a recipe that is somewhat healthy but contains what you're craving! I second the recommendation to look at skinnytaste.com. Great recipes! Hang in there and remember that you are on a "journey." I am a chocoholic!!!

    I an beyond where you are at right now! I keep denying my craving and just having alittle to a full on binge! Advice, eat what you want in moderation! For the past two days (including today), I have been a funk! Tomarrow is a brand new day and I am starting fresh!!! Remeber, its a lifestyle change, NOT A DIET!

    I think it is okay to have a cheat day. If you deprive yourself of what you really what it might send you into a binge. I say go for it! But of course just don't make a habit out of it.

    You're not eating nearly enough. At 23, 4'11, and ~105 pounds I don't eat less than 1600 when losing.
