OMG!!! Stupid people really bug me. I went to a college prep high school, and you would assume that anyone who managed to graduate from a school like that would have a basic understanding of grammar...yet I see so many errors in Facebook status updates. Every once in a while I can understand, but some of these people do it a TON...and it isn't from their phone, so you KNOW it isn't an auto-correct situation.
In modern American society, a 'college prep' education is barely worth bragging about.0 -
"I could care less."
Every time I see this, I sort of want to smash my monitor.
But, I COULD care less; I'm naturally a rather sympathetic person :flowerforyou:0 -

What is even worse than misspelling in your argument... misspelling during sexting! Totally ruins the moment. :noway:

It does doesn't it hard to keep going when you start laughing cause someone spelled clot instead of cl!t lol. Damn autocorrect..0 -
During sexting....
"I just can't wait to shove your duck into my puppy tonight"0 -
really detracts (although distracts would be awesome too) from your argument.
You totally shouldn't have edited that. I just assumed it was intentional, given context!
I agree! Same here. There all totally making me laugh though, LOL
Ooops I mean their* hehe0 -

omg this had me totally burst out laughing here at work - my co worker had to ask wtf am I doing   :laugh:0 -
Yeah, I agree. It's not a "spelling police" thing at all. It just shows your lack of intelligence, and your inability to really think through your point. If you can't even see that a word is spelled incorrectly, how could you have possibly thought through your argument?
In my opinion, though, there is a difference between an occasional typo and consistently making spelling and grammatical errors. I daresay everyone has been guilty of a typo from time to time.0 -
Baaahahahahaha!  :laugh:0 -

You would think anyone who has a high school diploma could spell AND punctuate. I can't stand when people don't punctuate properly or over use punctuation marks, every single time they type or txt. :noway:
Editied to add my first word. Lol.0 -

Personally, I would rather they use too much punctuation than not use it at all.0 -

I work in college admissions, and the most entertaining part of my job is reading the prospective students' essays. We have a culinary school, but you'd be amazed at how many applicants are actually looking to be chiefs (of what, we're unsure). I wish I could think of some better examples right quick because let me tell you, I've seen some gems.
Point being: I can tell you with absolute certainty that graduation from high school is no longer about having actually learned a damn thing, least of all spelling and grammar.
Yeah, I had to fix a typo. I'd have fixed it in ANY thread, though, for the record!0 -

in this case, my alma mater is small and exclusive....remedial classes are not in the curriculum--you have to go to night school for that-- and we had a VERY high percentage of kids in the AP classes, some taking several. We graduated lots of future college professors, at least one pharmacist, a bunch of computer geeks, and a guy who works in LA doing digital animation ( he worked on the last Spiderman movie!) We only graduated 100 kids in my class.0
