I never drink enough water and whenever I try to get my daily 8 cups, I lose track or just forget to keep drinking. How do you guys remember to drink enough water?

I have a reusable water bottle. I know it is 32oz so I know that I should drink 2 of those throughout my day. There are also smaller bottles that have a thing on the bottle that you can track how many times you refill it throughout the day.0

I have a 32oz Nalgene bottle and just know I need to drink 2 a day.
I also never order drinks when out to eat b/c it's too expensive, so I get water in there.
I try to drink water at all meals unless I'm having alcohol.
When I'm really struggling with cutting out soda, I will set a goal for myself such as, I can do one cup of coffee, then it's only water and I can't have a soda can until that first 32oz is gone. Then it's ONE soda and back to water.
Just log it...I do much better when I know I am plugging it in.0 -
To get my water, I trained myself to drink water out...of bottles. I simply can't drink glasses. Too hard.
Rather, I have a water bottle that I carry around at work.
Then again, its geting to the point where...I simply drink water now.0 -
I bring my morning coffee in a thermos. When the coffee runs out, I fill it with water and repeat the process at least twice. It holds about 16 ounces, so that's 4 thermoses of either water or mildly-diluted water, 8 cups.
Then I have a couple of small glasses of water diluted with fermented grapes in the evening.0 -
I have 3 16 oz reusable water bottles. I empty and refill them multiple times a day. I average 15-21 cups of water a day.0

Right after I wake up I drink a very ice cold 8oz, then I drink another 8-16oz with my vitamins then before I walk out the door to work another 8oz. Then at work I have a 16oz glass on my desk. I drink one before lunch, one with lunch and one after lunch. When I get home I may have one or two glasses, but I'm not really worried b/c I know I drank enough through the day!
So I can easily get 10 glasses in w/out even thinking about it.0 -

I drink nothing but water all day and it was never a problem for me. My problem is drinking too much. I measure it with a nalgene bottle which I try not to drink more than 5 a day. the bottle size is 32oz0

water, water & more water....and eat low sodium. If you eat processed foods or eat out, it will be high0

Since I have a drinking problem, I use an IV0

I struggled at first but found the more I drank the more I wanted it. Also after a few days, if I hadn't had enough I felt more thirsty. If you struggle with water, try adding a slice of lemon or lime to it for some low cal flavour.0

i carry my nalgene bottle with me everywhere. at first it was a struggle because i was a total soda junkie and i would get tired of water and buy a soda instead, but after a few months it just became second nature to me to drink water. now if i don't drink a ton of water constantly i start to feel off.
my advice would be to get a reusable bottle and refill it often.0 -
Well I would be considered a water-holic. I drink it constantly. I have heard though that if you drink out of a bottle or glass using a straw it helps. I usually refill my 32 oz jug 5 or 6 times just while at work.0

This. I'm not one of those people who obsess about how much water they are getting. If I am thirsty I have something to drink. It might be water, tea, milk or pop. I never feel dehydrated and my actual hydration level (as tested) is within normal range.0 -

I need one of those that tracks how many times you fill it. Where'd you get it?
To OP: I started drinking a lot of water at least 10 years ago. Now, i don't like the taste of soft drinks and other sugary beverages. I drink coffee in the a.m. and an occasional sweet tea (about 2 per month), but I drink water the rest of the time, even when I go out. Once in a while, I'll splurge on an alcoholic beverage when out with my husband.0 -
I don't really have a problem drinking enough water...sometimes I buy those Smartwater 32oz bottles, and I'll refill it 5 or 6 times throughout the day! I think I need more water than most people...if I get less than 80-100oz a day, I get headaches0

Me, too!
To OP: Some foods are 50% or more water (rice, pasta, watermelon, etc.) This is dietary water and can be counted if you're having a hard time drinking it.0 -
I faint in public and then hide of embarassment for a month.0

I realize this might sound a LITTLE senile but I take a few swigs of water every time I think about water, for example, brewing coffee, washing dishes, doing some laundry, etc :drinker:0

I have several 24oz Contigo bottles (in fact, two for each person in the family!). We each have our own color, so no mix ups. Every time I finish it, I mark off 3 glasses in my MFP diary. And I take the bottle with me everywhere I go - its always close by when I'm home and always with me in the car. If I'm getting ready to go somewhere and the bottle is down part way, I log what I've already drank and then fill it up for the car. Works great for me!0

I know they have them at Walgreens and Target. Mine came strapped to a lunchkit, so I had to buy both...but I use both0 -
