Feel better after a workout?

People always say how they feel "so much better" after a workout, funny I don't get that feeling.

If anything after a workout (running/jogging 30-45 min) I want to eat everything in the world and/or cry...

What am I doing wrong?!

Yah, I find when I do stationary bike for an hour, I feel drained and not at all alive, but when I go out cycling, it really wakes me up and makes me feel more energised. It is quite strange.

wow, for real? Are you just starting out? If so, then it's just your body rejecting your new lifestyle....drink plenty of water before after and during....after lifting weights I feel euphoric, after cardio, I am very energized...

It gets awesome, please don't give up.:flowerforyou:

actually i so understand this. I kept waiting for this great rush of indorphins (sp) indorfins? well you now w hat i mean right, anyway i had worked by b.b. off with the ellip and 30ds and i just feld drained and not that happy. Now that i do my exercise outside, C25K i feel so much better. Lots happier. Don't know if just being outside makes the difference or what.

Endorphins should be putting you in a good mood, try running longer and harder, I used to feel the same, until I really got into working out, then I started getting high off of getting myself going. Try doing some nice, heavy squats for lots of reps, better than any drug I've done.

You may be over-training. Use a heart rate monitor when you work out and vary your effort so that your heart rate stays in the "cardio" zone (70-80% of max). Before I used a monitor, I felt just like you did... tired, drained, unhappy. Now that I have noticed that I push myself WAY too hard, I tone it down and pay attention to my heart rate. I now enjoy working out much more, can sustain a workout for longer periods of time, feel energized instead of drained, and I get that good feeling afterwards that can last for hours.

endorphin junkie. Your post does not even compute.
  • I find when I work out at home I don't really feel that driven but when I work out at the gym I feel energized and ready to go that extra mile. I usually feel so amped up after a workout and emotionally happy. It may be endorphins but it also maybe just knowing that I accomplished something great for myself that day and knowing that I'm closer to my goal. Also make sure you have something in your stomach before workouts so you won't feel so burned out and keep your bottled water or protein drink handy. I agree with others don't give up though.

Right when it ends I'm exhausted. But the rest of the day I feel RIGHT. And BETTER.
