How important is...

Potassium? My MFP app on my phone says that I should be getting 3500mg a day and for the last month I have only had 4 days where I got over 1000 and only 1 of those 4 was over 1500. Is it important enough for losing weight that I should work to get more?

That is a good question. I just assumed it was in my multi-vitamin...and now I see its not. I did a quick search and found that in addition to bananas, tomatoes and oranges are also a good source of potassium. You can also find multi-vitamins with potassium, which may be enough to bump you up.0

Thanks, this is useful info.
OP, the difficult thing about tracking potassium is that it is not required on nutrition labels (not in Australia anyway) so many/most entries in the database won't include it. This means that the numbers you see in your diary are almost certainly not going to be accurate. It's probably best to ask you doctor if there is any particular reason you need to be concerned about it.0 -
