I seem to have a slow metabolism....I am curious to see if there are any foods that are good for helping speed things up?

I know when you want to gain muscle mass..you should eat certain foods...so I am hoping there is a science to this too? I couldn't find anything when I did a search.

  • I found a few websites but one which lists things I keep seeing consistently. I'm still not sure how well these foods will work. Would you have to eat a certain amount at every meal? I have no idea. I put cayenne pepper on darn near everything I eat and I'm not talking just a little bit so I'd hate to see how much weight I'd have to lose if I didn't saying that the stuff actually helps. Anyway, website listed:

Well, first, why do you say you have a slow metabolism? Was it diagnosed? If you believe that to be the case, and haven't seen a doctor, I would do so, it could have a causality that needs treatment. Even if you're wrong, you'll find out what your TDEE is, which is VERY helpful in figuring out what your deficit should be. This site is just an estimate based on averages, so if you don't conform, you are really using invalid numbers.

Your GP should be able to get you a metabolic test, or at least, be able to refer you to someone who does them.

    Best luck to you.
