We always hear about olive oil being the best oil and whatnot ... but I have some sesame oil and was wondering if that ranked up there with the other healthy fats. I know sesame is pretty good for you if you're not allergic. Does anyone know anything about sesame oil?

I know it tastes yummy

It has a high proportion of omega 6 fatty acids, believed to help fight cholesterol and it is low in saturated fat. Also, sesame oil contains sasamol and sesamin which are powerful antioxidants. Studies have found that sesame oil can reduce your blood pressure and hypertension. It does not go rancid as quickly as other oils. Sesame oil is helpful in the treatment of chronic diseases such as hepatitis, diabetes and migraines. There are a ton of articles online to read but basically it is good for you, it tastes good and It also makes great body oil!
