    I've always had a weak core. Hardest and least favorite part for me to work. I agree with the others that say deadlifts and back exercises in addition to ab exercises and planks. Adding the back strengthening in there helps give more support. I'd been working my abs for awhile but didn't realize how weak my back was!! Huge difference in working it!

    i would also recommend pilates. winsor pilates has some great dvds, and they are nice for beginners because most of the moves have modifications if you can't do them right away. i couldn't believe the core strength i gained from a month of using the winsor pilates dvds. :glasses:

    I'll add another vote for squats and deadlifts. Both exercises work the core extensively if done with PROPER FORM and keep your body in balance. Rock hard abs are worthless if you don't have a strong lower back to balance your body out.
