last year when I finally became fed up with being fat I started walking. Then I discovered fun trails to hike on, so I did a ton of hiking. I also kept fine tuning my diet. After a ton of hiking and walking and dieting I discovered I can run. It's great. From my first steps to my first run took me a year.
So I suggest lots of outdoors walking, find places with hills, challenge yourself a little, and then a little more, and more. Keep progressing and finding ways to add more challenge.
This will work for you
Good luck!

stretch always before and after.
Start out small and work up your minutes working out.
If you get muscle cramps even with the stretching drink diet tonic water.
Do you belong to a gym?
I do zumba, leg presses, swimming, exercise bike, kettle ball lifts & sauna.
Not all everyday, I have certain days for certain activites.
Mix up your work out, don't overdo one area.0 -
im a great believer in using the will or other console. there are plenty of "games"/ fitness regimes out there. My favourite is Excerbeat gym class work out. fun cardo or say EA sports actvie 2 that has a HRM and weight training/ cardio.
Workouts for me need to be fun otherwise I don't have the motivation to do em. I dont do the silly work out "party games" I like the serious workout interactive "games" . if you have a wii or a ps3 or a 360 with kinnect give some of the fitness games a go.
tho i found Excerbeat on the Wii and EA sports active 2 to be the best out of the many that I have tried. And ive treid almost all of the fitness "games" out there0 -
I have to agree with -V- I started off walking and it made a huge difference....then I learn that streching also makes a big difference, so now I strech before i walk or any other exercise. I have now mastered 35 minutes on the Ellipitical...at first it was only 7. I also do the bike, change it up....find a good dvd you can do at home....like a walking dvd...I have rented many from my library. Best of luck! Blessings!! <><0

Have you tried using a work out video? I know there are TONS of them out there, and most are really fun and motivating to do. I found that doing a video or two on a regular basis with eating healthy and drinking plenty of water helps you feel good and will eventually make you look good too.0

On the elliptical things should smooth.
If your elliptical has a ramp feature, make sure you start at the lowest part.
Many ellipticals raise the ramp way too soon and too often for my knees to be comfortable.
Are you at a gym or at home?
If you are at a gym, switch it up and hit a treadmill too.0 -
You haven taken the first step, it is a little hard just getting started, but don't give up and you can do it! This will help you realize how many calories you are actually eating. I was really surprised when I realized it, it has really helped me and I have already lost 4lbs in two weeks, I can not believe it!!! Along with the exercise, the calorie count has really jumped my weight lose up so much, I can already see the pay off for all my hard work and so will you!!!!!! The first time you put on those pair of pants/shorts that have been to tight and they not ONLY fit but are BAGGY it is a great reward!!! Not to mention how much better you are going to feel!! Just take it one day at a time......also I use www.shapesense.com to average out my calories burned @ a workout, it's real easy, just take your pulse and you just put it into the formula they give you. GOOD LUCK!!0

So i was doing the elliptical at the aerobic setting and the resistance kept getting harder and harder and me being a pervious smoker didnt work out so well. My husband suggested i should just walk the 30 minutes with no setting.. and behold i made it to 23 minutes!! Guess i have to get my legs used to working out before adding a resistance to it!! I burned 411 calories today!!0
