CONFUSED!!! HELP

I am not sure how I calculate my calorie deficit??? I am so confused I want to make sure I'm losing weight. I use MFP to track everything. Help please!!! What do I need to do?

    MFP calculates it for you. MFP takes your sex, age, weight, height, and activity level, plugs that information into a formula, and then spits out a result for how many calories your body burns on a typical day excluding exercise. It then subtracts a certain number of calories based on your weight loss goals to tell you how many calories you should be eating on a daily basis.

    When you exercise, you are burning additional calories. When you log the exercise, MFP adds the calories to your daily goal. This keeps your level of weight loss steady, and helps you fuel the exercise.
