Are you following a specified training program? I haven't run a marathon yet-- I keep getting injured, but one thing that I heard that helps you prepare mentally and physically is to go out and walk/run for the desired time of your marathon finish. Since most programs have you stop at the 20 mile mark, your body is unsure of how it will react when you're using it for longer than you anticipated. So if you have a desired finish time of 4 hours and 30 minutes, go run/walk for 4 hours and 30 minutes. Your pace will be much slower, but your body will know how it feels to be on it for that long. This helps with "hitting the wall" that everyone talks about, which usually comes are mile 20.

Also, good luck and have fun! Get lots of marathon swag.
