Hello, everyone. My name is Jaclyn, I'm 27 years old and I'm trying to get healthy for a lifetime.
I was always skinny, not healthy but small, and I was happy with my body. I got pregnant and stopped smoking at the same time and put on a lot of unhealthy weight. Three years later I'm small again, but really out of shape. "Skinnyfat" I think is how they refer to it.
My goal isn't weight loss but fat loss. I'm 5'4" and currently 143lbs and a size 6/8. I'm okay with those numbers never changing (though I'm sure they will). I want a healthy lean body, to be healthy for myself and to set a good example for my young daughter.
My husband and I work out together, we go to the gym 3-5 times a week. We also both spent some time with a personal trainer and we're both still seeing him. I like to run and I like to lift weights. I lift as heavy as I can for 8-10 reps and I do drop sets. I feel I'm on track with my workouts.
Food is my problem. I really enjoy it and I really enjoy gooey, creamy, cheesy items. I'm trying to control my portion sizes of these items and I'm trying to eat them less during the week. But, sometimes it's really hard for me.
I've been using the food dairy for about 2 weeks now and I'm finding it really helpful. MFP has me eating around 1600 calories a day for fat loss (that's without workout calories added back in). Sometimes I make it sometimes I don't. My eating habits are still poor. I'll eat very little for a few days then I'll eat a pile of unhealthy items (this isn't necessarily intentional, I would never purposefully starve myself) so I'll swing between eating <1200/day to >2,000 which probably makes my body cling to fat.
Anyway, I felt it was time to introduce myself to the community and offer myself up for advice both outgoing and incoming. The forum here seems kind and I'm excited to become a part of a group that seems so supportive of one another despite different body goals.
