A serving of Chicken...

I don't have a food scale, and I can't afford to just go buy one right now.. until I can go buy one what is the best way to figure a serving of chicken? I've got a pack on boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the fridge and I wanted to go ahead and cut them up so I can freeze them.. I just don't know how much I should use.. =/ I've heard about the size of a deck of cards. I've also heard I can chunk it up and fill one cup...

I think the size of a deck of cards is a good 3oz serving. I wouldn't chop it up since you'll have to chop it so small to fit the air spaces.

This is going to be a tough one to be honest because even a deck of cards and comparing it to chicken will definitely not result in a serving all the time accurately.

When I purchase chicken breasts, mine come from Sam's club and the case is about 45-50# in weight. Each breast tends to average 6-7oz each. I had a pkg that each average 10oz each!!!!

By chance do you have a nearby dollar store where you can only spend a few dollars on a scale?

    Cute baby by the way!

the weight is usually on the pack, so if its a 200g pack and you want 100g - have half etc. :)

I can go see what our dollar stores have. I'm gonna have to do some math and hope I get it right.. if not close enough will do. =)
