Morning!! :flowerforyou:
Here is the thread for this week.
What's on your calendar? What are you striving for?
My goals:
#1Drink water
#2 Stay at 1400 cals
#3 4 fruit/vege per day
#4 No loose choc chips or candy bars
#5 No Frosted Flakes!
I've gained 2.5# in the last 2 weeks. I know why but it still sucks--and feels crummy too. :grumble:
So, I'm re-committing to goals. And any support you can give me would be so very appreciated.
ok, time to exercise. 3mi with leslie sansone.

ok, did my exercise.
and this week i'm logging my dog walking. i don't get into the cardio fitness zone really and def not fat burning, but i want to track my overall minutes and cals more accurately. just to see.
my girls have camp at the YMCA this week, so i better move along. see you later!
oh--one more reminder to drink your water--you need water for your body to do the chemical process of breaking down/using fat. so drink your water to eliminate the fat! :drinker:0 -
Stacey, You can do it!!! Just remember it is normal to go up and down in small increments. I also practice the "everything in moderation" way of thinking so if you can do it have a bite of brownie (but I do understand how hard it is to stop with one little bite!)
My goals this week are:
1) Drink my water!
2) Stay within my calories
3) workout at least 3x this week (and it is 100-105 today with humidity, a code red day) so doing anything outside is a no no.
4) Dance with my boys and be silly
My kids don't go back to school until August 31 but between now and then I have my hubby's bday (8-16) and my third son turns 7 on 8-23! So, lots to do.
I am spending today running errands with the boys and staying in the AC. Will try to hop on my elliptical sometime today and work with my resistance band.
We had a good potty training weekend and my little guy woke up dry this morning so let's hope it continues
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Good morning!
Stacey - We're here to help you! I know you can do it! Brownies are a big temptation. I would have ended up doing the same thing. Definitely log your dog walking. I try to log every extra step I take.
Lettuce - Good luck on the potty training! I remember those days. My kids are 16 months apart, and there for a while, I thought my daughter (2nd) would potty train before my son (1st)! He did potty train 1st. Both my kids showed some interest around 2 1/2, but then stopped. My son was 3 1/2 & my daughter was just 3 when they finally did it.
My goals this week are:
1 - Drink all 8 glasses of h20
2 - Stay within my cals
3 - Walk 1/2 mile each day
4 - Pedal exercise bike 6 miles each day
5 - Spend a little one-on-one time w/ each child this week since summer is quickly slipping away (They go back to school Aug. 25th).
Check back in later!0 -
Amy- yeah, all of my boys didn't potty train until they were over 3. Caden has been doing a good job so far today....keeping fingers crossed. He is my last and then there will be no more diapers!!!
I think I am going to take my two youngest to the mall today because it is in the AC and they have a playground.0 -
the heat does make such a diff. it was cool this weekend--loved it.
it's back to hot and sunny (to be expected in aug in vegas) and i only did one errand--the library.
my little guy played in the kid gym at the y while i researched after school classes for the girls.so that is his peer interaction for the day.
i just don't want to be out at the park today. not in the mood to sweat.
so lettuce, totally understand scheduling around a/c places.
thanks both of you for cheering me on. it is such a mental thing with me right now. it would be so easy to just eat the frosted flakes or something...but it dsn't give me the long term energy i need.
so it'll be eggs and cheese in a whole wht tortilla. carrots (w/pb?) too.
dinner will be chkn with veges and carb???
on to lunch...0 -
yes, i'm reporting in bit by bit. it took a lot of will to close the strawberry newtons and walk out of that pantry!
i just had my snack of 3T skippy creamy natural pb with lots of carrots.
i realize 3T is excessive, but it's better than the alternatives. i'm hoping the protein + fiber will fill me enuf to make it to a healthy dinner.
i'm almost done w/40oz of water. did you see today's water challenge?
where are you with your goals today??
i think we all set manageable, achievable goals--so let's do it! :flowerforyou:0 -
I have only done 24 oz of water today, going to try and get in a little more this evening.0
-
Lettuce, my kids love going to the mall so they can play in the play area.
I am sitting here drinking water cup #5. I should be able to get the rest in before bed. I really should drink an extra or 2 since I ate a whole Totino's Crisp Crust pepperoni pizza for dinner tonight! :noway: Of course, my almost 7-year-old son ate a whole cheese one all by himself plus 3 bites of his sisters! :noway: :noway: I don't know whether I should feel better or worse that I was out-eaten by my son and my 5 1/2 year old daughter came close!
Even eating the pizza, at the moment I'm 323 cals over, and I haven't gotten on the exercise bike yet. I walked 0.2 miles today going to pick up my daughter from summer camp. I should be able to get the rest of that half mile in. In all, I could have done better today, but I've done WAY worse!0 -
good job girls! i've had 50 oz of water. need more as i'm wanting to snack and i'm already over my cals.
the extra T of pb and the pasta killed my #s. plus i think the pasta is expanding in my tummy. maybe i just can't eat that stuff anymore. considering it has practically no nutritional value, that wouldn't be bad.
so, i need to get kids in bed and off for a quick walk with dog.
i feel like i'm back at square 1. man, this stinks!! my own fault, but still stinks. :frown:
thanks for being such nice cheerleaders. i don't respond well to the kick in the pants kind of "support." i then go sneaking underground. so i very much apprec you letting me be honest here. it helps tremendously.
ok...let's get it done0 -
i did it! i didn't have any more snacks last night and drank water!!
working on today--stacey, stay away from those frosted flakes!!
check ya later--0 -
Good morning! I weighed in this morning and was really happy that I maintained from last week. My TOM started yesterday, so since I maintained through the ravenous eating stage, I feel like I must have lost some . . . I hope.
I got all my water and exercise in yesterday.
Good for you Stacey, staying away from those snacks! I wish I could say the same. The 75% fat Cabot Cheddar was calling my name, so I ate some w/ pita chips last night after exercising. DH evidently ate the rest of the good crackers w/out telling me. :grumble: Lettuce, were you able to stay away from the Frosted Flakes?0 -
Amy- no Frosted Flakes for me! My problem is the water....really have a hard time with it and now allergy season is upon us making my sinuses hurt and I know if I drink more water it will make me feel better!!!
I put in the application today for all 4 kids passports!! We are going to Beaches in Turks in Caicos in December so I really need to get in bathing suit shape by then....should be some motivation
I have really stayed within calories today but can't blow it this evening like I do many times....must stay on track and try to get in some exercise somewhere :grumble:0 -

oooh lala!
should be so much fun!!
now--drink your water :drinker:0 -

Sorry Lettuce, I typed the wrong name in there when I put in about the Frosted Flakes! I meant to put Stacey's name.
It sounds like you're going to have a great time in December!0 -
ate the frosted flakes today--but that was my dinner.i'm over on cals and under on water but it's 7:20 so i still have timeto make up for it.
cardio x from p90x
and walk the dog and drink!! are my plans!
how was your day??0 -
Morning
I was doing great yesterday, under my calories and lots of water when Hubby's bday present arrived a few days early. I got him a Margarita Machine so he could make drinks at home since that is really the only alcoholic drink he likes and we could make the kids smoothies. Well of course we had to test it out.....3 drinks later....not good. I still think I came in at my calories or just a little over but really shouldn't drink during the week...not going to do that again. It messes up my whole routine. Ok, enough complaining and time to get my butt back in gear.
Think I am taking the kids school supply shopping today cuz it is cloudy and raining here.:happy:0 -
lettuce--those things happen...so at least you know the machine works
just get back up today--and drink extra to flush out the alcohol.
from my exper, it gets easier not to splurge once you the #s start going and the exercise picks up. i see how hard i have to work to "make up" for the splurge, and then i'm not so eager to repeat the behavior.
dsn't always work but that kind of thinking is more present in my mind than when i first started here.
this am i walked the dog and did cardio x (i never got to it last night). i feel so good about myself!
last night i did some arm exercises using dh's chin up bar w/bands. and we did ab ripper x together (well, what i could do of it!). that + this am is why i'm feeling good about myself and confident again.
so, mix it up--find a partner--challenge yourself! we will reach our goals!0 -

Stacey--I agree and thanks so much for the support, means a lot
I have been downing the water and going to do some strength training this afternoon....it always gives me a ton of energy!
Have a great day everyone!0 -
Hello ladies! How is your day going? I did great on my water yesterday, but I was over on cals & under on exercise. I haven't done any exercise yet today, but so far I'm doing pretty well on cals and I have almost half my water in.
Lettuce - mmmm ... margaritas! I actually found a Light Margarita Mix at Target about a month ago. It only has 30 cals per serving of mix. Haven't tried it yet.0 -

Amy---you will have to let me know how the mix is...what flavor is it. I usually don't drink them, I like wine but hubby was so happy to get it last night and they did taste good....strawberry.
I am doing pretty well today but would really like to get outside and walk or something and pray my knee doesn't puff up0 -
My boyfriend works at Target, I will have to ask him to get me some! I wonder do they have a low-cal bloody mary mix? Bloody mary might already be low-cal...something to investigate.
My goals this week are:
1 Go to boxing class tonight (almost time!)
2 Do yoga tomorrow morning as I won't be able to go to gym tomorrow night (laundry)
3 Go to gym in the morning on Friday because I'm hanging with friends in the evening (this will be hard, HATE getting up early)
4 Make it through the weekend without any major slips (I did well last weekend: had small container of popcorn w/out butter at the movies and shared gummy worms with boyfriend, still lost pounds at weigh in on Monday! "Everything in moderation" actually DOES work)0 -
Woo Hoo! Was able to get some lifting in today...did some chest press, flies, squats, bicep curls, rows and few lunges and knee was ok  Now to get in some cardio besides chasing the kids.0
-
happy thursday!
hope all of you ended your day well yesterday.
good job, lettuce, on getting in your lifting!
we went to sweet tomatoes for dinner and i def. enjoyed the desserts! but #s are holding, so i'm not gonna "sweat" it too much. i made sure to take a longer walk last night and this am.
and now, leslie sansone and i are going to have a 2mi session in the playroom.
here's to a great start to your day and continued success this week! we will do it!! (laundry be d*mned!)
:flowerforyou:0 -
Good morning ladies! My day started well, but it ended badly. DH was out of town last night (so there went that little bit of accountability!) and I had a long meeting last night at church (kids had to come w/ me :grumble: Thank goodness for the portable DVD player!). So by the time I got home, I was hungry and craving bad things. I ended up not logging everything. Since I got the kids to bed around 10:30 last night (had to stop at grocery store & they had to talk to Daddy before bed), I was too tired to do exercises. So I sat on the couch like a lump for the next 2 hours watching tv and eating. My #s still showed weight loss today, so not sure if it was because I got 9 cups h20 in, or the end of TOM, or it won't show up until tomorrow (or all of the above). I'm going to do better today.
Good for you Lettuce, getting all that exercise in! As soon as we try the light margarita mix, I'll let you know how it is. I enjoy a good glass of wine as well. We started drinking wine on a semi-regular basis (about 2x a week) about 1.5 years ago for DH's heart health. Heart problems run rampant in his family.
Stacey, I haven't heard of Sweet Tomatoes, but it sounds like it would be a good place to eat. Good job getting the extra walking in! I also noticed that your #s are back down.
I'll check in later. Gotta get back to work!0 -
Good Morning Ladies!
I am feeling the lifting this morning! Sore, but it is a good feeling, let's me know I did something. I got in 7 cups of water yesterday!!! That is huge for me and no alcohol LOL
Amy, I totally understand the part about DH being out of town and you having to run around and being just too tired to do anything....hang in there :flowerforyou: At least you drank all that water! Look at the positives.
Stacey...I still think that regardless of having something sweet you are doing a great job with the exercise, keep it up!
Does anyone here use twitter? I have been on it for well over 1 1/2 years cuz hubby is in IT but would love to be able to talk to you guys during the day if anyone is interested I am Lettuceb on there
Have a great day!0 -
 amy, thanks for noticing. sweet tomatoes is a fresh salad bar with lots of homemade soup and pasta dishes too. it's buffet. souplantation is the same complany--don't know if they have that near you.
it was good.
and me and my SUGAR!!! how many cookies did this little piggy eat today? i'm still in my cals for today, but need to finish water and will FOR SURE need to do a long walk tonight.
see, lettuce---when will i learn????!!!!
it's a good thing i don't smoke or do drugs--i can't resist cookies, i can only imagine what kind of hold real chemicals would have on me!
amy, sorry your day ended so crummy. late and alone=recipe for overeating. next time...try posting up here or on some other board. that might help you make it thru the cravings.
but i totally understand when even that's not worth the effort. :ohwell:
later--ladies
ps-lettuce, LOVE the dog but she is VERY needy come bedtime and with 3 kids incl one special needs, i'm finding it's just too much for me to handle. it comes down to a choice b/n the kids and the dog every night--and i hate being in that position.
i would never "dump" her, so we'll keep trying to find her a good home. and if not soon, i'll spay her in 2 weeks and keep her.
make sense?
anyway....:flowerforyou:0 -

I went out this evening to run/walk for the first time since getting tendonitis in my knee. I have been doing the elliptical some and no swelling so thought I would try. Well, I got about 10 minutes in and the skies opened up and I got drenched. :grumble: At first I tried to wait it out under a tree but it just got worse :noway: I was using my husband's Bose headphones for the first time so I took them off and shoved them under my shirt to protect them and tried my best to get home...I was soaked, couldn't even see when I was running  (was funny though! ) Anyway, the good thing was even after stretching there was no swelling in my knee and it feels ok..... so hopefully the new shoes and custom orthotic inserts have made a difference and I can get back to the C25K!!!0

welcome! sorry i didn't respond earlier. i didn't see your post!!
you have good goals--and we're here to cheer you on your way. :flowerforyou:0 -
that's great that you might be able to return to your running program.
and the rain...i know what a pain but sounds delish to me! love the smell of rain.
well...i can't find my engagment ring. i've been so careless lately, not putting things back where they go. not taking care of papers right away, etc.
i lost my car keys in park city in june--the whole set including the library card, albertson's card etc.
and now i can't find this ring!!
i was trying to stay cool about it, looking around casually for it. but tonight i did a more thorough search and it's not showing up. i wonder if i could rent a metal detector and look for it that way? hmmm
it is insured, but still. it was a custom designed ring (by me) and i didn't have it appraised recently and with gold prices up.... whatever. i'm just mad at myself for not putting it away in its usual place EVERY time.
we'll give it another week of looking and then go from there.
sorry to end on such a bummer note tonight. i have a serious headache and won't be walking the puppy. moving around makes me nauseous.
so, time to chill out and get to bed.
sorry for the :frown: post.0
