Anyone getting married?

I'm getting married in October '13, this isn't my sole motivation but was definitely the final trigger after 10 years of diets. So I just wondered if anyone else on here is (or has recently) getting married and do you have any advice/ideas to keep me going?

I thought a wedding would be my biggest motivator, but the last couple of weeks i've fallen off the wagon (I suffer from depression, which never helps of course). Now getting my mojo back a bit but I'm still terrified of not being at a happy healthy weight on the big day. Also dreading wedding dress shopping which isn't right :(

I've also never been slim as an adult, so have no idea what weight to aim for (i'd like to have a goal to aim for, so I know how much i need to lose each month!). Currently 250lbs and 5ft7. I'm fairly well proportioned, is there anyone of similar height that could tell me what their best weight is?

Any advice is much appreciated! x

I recently attended a wedding where the bride didn't look all that great while the groom was really hot and thought THAT WILL NOT BE ME. I'm not planning a wedding but in the 4 years I've been with my bf I've gained 20 lbs while he's gained 5. I have trouble maintaining motivation seemingly no matter what the goal or occassion is so I understand falling off the wagon even though you have a big day to prepare for.
  • i havent set an actual date yet as we have just moved in so id suspect in the next couple of years though thats not the main reason im losing weight. for your ideal weight with the size you have been i DO NOT recommend you go by bmi weight as you will look way too skinny im 257lbs and size UK 20/22 at 5ft6 i too and fairly well proportioned but im aiming for 224lbs to see how that looks and wheither id want to go further but i wont be going any lower than 182lbs as i think id look too thin

I'm getting married in June 2013.

Not sure I have anything I can add for advice, since I'm not losing for my wedding or bothered what my weight will be when I get to that day (as long as I've not gained), but just wanted to join in the 'yay. wedding'-ness.
