I swear I hate when I have cravings that will throw my entire weight loss program to the wind. At the moment I am totally craving Subway and Sun Chips...now I know two things will happen if I get it. 1) It won't taste as good and it will be a calorie waste 2.) I will eat it, love it and then feel guilty as all hell. I have been fighting with myself all day with this....sigh.

I shall prevail!

If I wanted something that badly, I'd just "budget" for it .......

For example, once or twice a month I have a BBQ sandwich & sweet potato fries for lunch ...... I know the calories for the BBQ are through the roof, so I plan ahead ........ will eat a light breakfast & make sure I get to the gym early ...... then I split the lunch with my husband or girlfriend ..... after the first few bites, it all tastes the same anyway ...... and have a salad for dinner if I'm hungry later ..... usually I'm not very hungry ......

Plan ahead & good luck !

Agreed! If you have a craving, budget for it and eat it - then it won't become a bigger deal than it really is. Especially with a craving as benign as yours - you can for sure budget that in! I could an I'm on 1200 a day.

Budgeting is great advice. It just recently occurred to me to do this and it has helped so much!
  • Don't restrict yourself because that is when you will binge (story of my life before joining this site).
I'm not saying eat cake and ice cream everyday.
But I'm saying if you're craving something, eat it as long as it fits into your calories for the day!
And btw, Subway and Sun Chips is barely a terrible craving. You're lucky your cravings have veggies on them! =P

for some things i budget for others i just avoid.
the things i avoid are ones that i know that if i got a taste of it i'd want more and more of it until next thing you know i'm budgeting my calories to fit in a pan of brownies.

and subway and sun chips isnt something terrible. you can get a 6" with the chips and that's only like what 600 calories? a 600 calories meal isnt bad.
