I was wondering if there is anyone out there who wears a HR monitor all day and night. on days that I do not exercise I burn in the low 3,000 range in any give 24 our period. How is it that MFP has a number so completely different tan my HR give me? And that being said, how accurate can my HR (Suunto) monitor be? I have been a huge believer in sometimes you get what youpay for, and the Suunto T6 that i use is about a $400 piece of equipment. Granted I didn't buy it just so thatI could track my caloric burn , I purchased it while in an intense training program I was involved in at the time of purchase, but it should still give accurate results, right? Before I was much more interested in the Snto telling me how hard I was pushing myself during training, and these days I am using it more to tell me how many calories I am burning. I know that it is giving me a close approximation, but it is still way off what MFP tell me. So after a long detailed story here, does anyone else use a HR monitor to esimate calories burned in a 24 hour period, and if so, is it accurate?

HRM's are not meant to be worn 24/7. They are not accurate in measuring anything other than calories burned through cardio.

I agree with PP. If you want an estimate of your total daily burn, check out the bodybugg, bodymedia fit, or fitbit.
