Since I have started working out with a trainer I don't weigh myself anymore. Actually my husband hid my scale from me. I just go by how my clothes fit and how I feel. I will tell you this, you should always use the same scale all the time to calculate how much you have lost or gained. If you weigh on a different scale you don't know what you would have weighed two weeks ago to calculate.
Take my advice do not get addicted to the scale. If it shows you gain weight you would'nt know how much was actually weight gained or what is water weight. I use to make myself so depressed getting on the scale. I will just wait until my trainer makes me weigh or measures me. That is something you should be doing, is measuring yourself.
Hope this helps0 -
I agree with April. Stick with one scale even if it is off. The important thing is that you are making progress, feeling better about yourself and ultimately will make your goal. Once you're there, then you can fret about 7 lbs.

Also one more very important thing that i learned a long time ago, make sure the scale you are using everytime is calibrated. I have seen sooooo many people get on a friends scale and ended up in tears because they "gained" almost ten pounds in a week. Most people don't calibrate their scales often, especially when they first buy them.
I have to fully agree with April, i don't like to weigh myself because a lot of it will be water weight, not as much of it as i would like mind you, but a good portion of the pounds are just that. I would recommend, and someone call me out if i am way off, but use the restroom right when you wake up and then jump on the scale. You are more likely to get that accurate weight without the water if you haven't had anything to drink in eight hours and all the water you did drink right before bed is now out of your system. Or if you don't have time, at least aim for the same time period every time you weigh in. Your weight will change throughout the day. Don't forget that.
Hope this helps!    :flowerforyou:0 -
I only weigh myself on my doctor's scales. You can't really weigh yourself on different scales, because they're all a little off from one another.
My daughter and I were testing out scales at Wal-Mart the other day, and every single set of scales weighed us differently.0 -

I agree too with the measuring part. Taking your measurements is an important part of tracking progress...I haven't reached the two week mark since coming back on MFP, but I plan to measure myself every 2 weeks and then weigh every week at the gym. I won't be buying a scale, I'll just use the one at the gym...having one at my apartment WILL be addictive.
PS - my ticker has finally changed! Yay me...and yay to everyone on this site that is so awesomely supportive  :drinker:0 -
I use my home scales for tracking purposes but I also check the scales at the gym to see how they compare.
They are consistently 3 pounds heavier than home.0 -
