Lunch boxes!

It's almost fall, greatest time of the year if only for the school supplies  mmm
I want to bring my lunch next semester because I won't have time to run home b/t classes, and I'm looking for the perfect lunch box. Does anyone have a lunch box/ pale that they're happy with? I want something that will do hot & cold lunches and isn't just made for a sandwich and chips (which will probably never be on the menu). Any input would be great! Thanks!

I have a homemade lunchbag that I made with insulated fabric. It fits my resealable containers perfectly. I usually take salad or a grilled chicken breast (cold) & some raw veggies.
    My favorites are
    celery
    grape tomatoes
    pea pods
    cucumber
Before you shop, think about what you usually take for lunch & the size/shape of your containers & cold pack.
i like to keep the trash to a minimum, so I use my own containers.
There are some really cute bento boxes. I bought one online that's shaped like a hamburger, but i don't use it. It's too small.
  • If you go to Trader Joes they have insulated bags for taking home groceries that work really well (around $10 for the medium ones i think). I usually don't have a lot of hot foods, but they work just the same for hot or cold, as long as you don't mix the two haha. You can find similar small ones at target and walmart. I like the medium ones as opposed to the small ones as i pack my entire days food to go in one bag, not just my lunch.

I fully agree! Make sure the bag (whatever size you get) if full, the fuller it is the colder/warmer it will stay.

Mine looks like this, it looks like a handbag, so it always looks like I am carrying a second purse.

I recently purchased a Lunch On the Go set from Fit & Fresh.

I don't know if it is exactly what you are looking for, but I love it because it can be used a lot of different ways. I like to build my lunches at work (example: today I had a wrap, and I like to keep the hummus and the veggies separate from the wrap until I eat it, so that it doesn't get soggy. I also like to bring salads with my protein separate so that I can heat up the chicken or salmon). So this works well for me and allows me to assemble everything right before I eat it. Also, it has a removable ice pack, which I like because keeping things at the right temperature is SO important! :-)

    I got it from Target.

Schnucks also had them, if you have one of those in your area.

Thanks for all the suggestions! :flowerforyou: I'll have to take a look at Target tomorrow. I'm completely crazy about things like this and must find the perfect one...

I have a hand me down Yu-Ghi-Oh lunchbox that one of my sons got too old to use:laugh: I really like it though, because it has a shoulder strap, so I can sling it and still have my hands free to carry stuff. My boss was laughing at me the other day when I left, saying it looked like I was moving (I had my laptop bag, my purse, my lunch box, a 32 oz water bottle, and a travel coffee mug).
