Carbs are not inherently good or evil

Count the calories from your banana and move on. Don't worry about sugar intake.

Ok. Well, I guess the title of this kept away the folks with all the strong opinions on carbs. I was expecting the "all carbs are bad" crowd to come out.

Lucky you. I agree that calories are ultimately what counts in weight loss. Personally, I try to limit the refined carbohydrates I eat. Sugar, white rice, enriched flour, etc... But mostly because these things tend to add up the calories fast.

I have been struggling with this same issue. I am trying to keep my sugar intake low and my protein intake high. On days that I eat fruit high in sugar I take that into account on my over sugar days as sugar from fruit is better than spooning piles of sugar on your cereal.

Eating right is about a balance. If you exercise and stay within your daily goals (or super close to them) you are going to see a difference. Carbs are not AS important to worry about as high sugar and fat IMO. Just watch your daily goals at the bottom of your food diary and you should be A OK!

Fruits and vegetables are healthy for you. Like everything...moderation is the key. As long as you're not eating like 6 bananas a day your good.

    Stay in your calorie limits
    Log everything!!!!!
Eat a variety of healthy, whole foods
Everything in moderation, watch your portions
    hit those macros

Also....MFP sugar setting is super super low so don't freak out if you go over due to healthy carbs such as fruits, veggies and whole grains

Seriously don't over think one banana:happy:

    ^^This.

I like having a banana before my after work workout. Gives me lots of fuel for a great workout!
