I saw chocolate flavored, vanilla flavored, and strawberry flavored tofu in the supermarket the other day and was wondering if anyone has every tried something like that. I believe it says "dessert base" on the packaging. I've made tofu pies by mixing plain tofu with strawberry jell-o, but this is the first time I've seen flavored tofu in the store. I'm a little wary to buy a block and find out it's nasty.

    That sounds disgusting, imo.

But I love tofu in Thai food. YUM

I'd be interested to know how they flavor it and how healthy that turns out to be. The mixing with jello to make pies definitely sounds tastier to me.

I've never had sweet tofu!! I love the silken tofu with seawedd, some green onion, soysauce and redpeppers. Yum!! The old fashioned way to eat tofu!

It's soft/silken tofu. They use it in a lot of Asian recipes and desserts. You can also use plain silken tofu in sauces.

    Example:
    Quick tofu chocolate pie -
2 packs of vanilla silken tofu
    1 1/2 cup chocolate chips
    pie crust

Melt chocolate chips in double boiler.
    Blend tofu in blender
    Blend in melted chips
    Pour in crust
    Refrigerate

Please note that I'm not bothering to calculate nutes :)

So those flavored tofus are not meant to be eaten out of the package?
