Should I be weighing my chicken breasts before cooking or after? Its boneless skinless. Frozen it weighed 7.3 ounces, defrosted, raw it was 6.4 ounces. I'm sure it'll be less cooked. There is an entry in the database for grilled chicken breast. I would think using that one, I'd weigh after. Right?

I normally guess with my serving sizes but defrosted would make more sense, i would assume it being frozen would just add water weight0

I weigh mine after it is done cooking and I log it under the grill chicken breast. If you have it in the grocery store I like using the thin slice boneless skinless chicken breast.0

yay! Thanks... It was 5.1 ounces cooked, so it lost quite a bit...0

I weigh it raw, usually defrosted, because I don't always cook it the same way and its cooked weight is somewhat dependent on the cooking time and conditions. Raw or cooked, just make sure you use the right database entry.0
