HELP! I have no social life.

Things that I do:
- Join meetup.com in your city. You can join (free) and do anything from skydiving to a book club. Whatever your heart desires.
- If you drink, even a little - join a wine tasting group in your area. This a great way to meet people and you do not have to worry about anyone getting drunk.
-Go to a Farmer's Market on Saturday. Fantastic way to meet men and women. People love to talk to people at a market.
- Volunteer at something you believe in. Easy way to meet people.
^^^^^This.
The basic idea is to do those things that interest you and eventually meet like-minded people. It's not dating, it's networking.0 -
Beats me, we have four kids, haven't had time without kids in 20 years. Our social life has tended to be based on our kids activities and parents of their friends.0
-
Take a road trip to Northern Nevada, yeah... it's a crazy place.0

i would do everything i cant do with my kids around. i'll watch porn loud! walk around naked! cook food with wine! stay up past midnight! take a road trip. go dancing til the sun comes up. watch a movie and cry all i want. eat ice cream for dinner. watch a rated R movie at the theatres...i could go on and on and on and on.... :flowerforyou:0

Make a list of your favorite hobbies, activities, and interests (interests meaning things you've never done, but have always wanted to try). Then look for local groups who do these activities together. For example, one of my hobbies is scenic photography, so I'm currently looking for a local photography club to join.0

I don't even work at the moment and I've moved to a town I don't know, but I'm not often bored! Find out what's going on in your community - I only live in a tiny town but there's so much going on (reading group, film club, eco movement, gym, pilates, zumba, singing, am dram, history society, bee community, pig rearing co-op, women's networks, running club, cycling club etc etc) that I could easily be out doing something every day and every evening if I chose... My top tip would be just to be brave about approaching people and explaining where you are at. you'll find there's loads of people in the same boat.0

List of things that I do:
- home repair projects
- gardening
- riding motorcycle
or you could -
attend a few biker parties / events, that should broaden your horizons...0 -
I have almost no social life... It's getting kind of pathetic.0
-
5-never say no to anything, seriously
Within reason, of course. If someone says, "Hey, let's go rob a bank!", you should probably say no to that. LOL0 -
My mom had me at 16. Now she's a biker, lol.0

check out meetup.com
depending on where you live there may be a group of people doing things you like. I met my Extreme Obstacle Course Training group that way (we practice for mud runs). There are all kinds of groups...from people who like to dance, to supper clubs, to scrabble groups, etc.0 -

I don't really have much of a social life either, I'm married but don't have kids.
My husband and I don't share many interests so I usually do stuff on my own anyways, I like to go to markets, walk around, usually end up talking to shop owners or sellers at the market, I go to a ceramic painting place and have met some nice people there (not people I would necessarily "hang out with" but nice enough to converse with that it makes for an enjoyable afternoon)0 -

When I found myself in the exact same situation, I decided to spend a lot of time just being with myself. I'd go to dinner alone, I'd lay on my bed and stare at the ceiling, and I'd go to movies. Just spent a lot of time thinking and doing things that made me feel good. I started going out and doing all kinds of things all by myself, and chatted up people around me, and found friends through those activities.
I also went to the bar a lot, which sounds totally bad, but ended up being a really important part of my growth in to a completely self-sufficient and internally happy woman.0 -
i would spend at least an hour with a pair of boxers on my head, running around the house laughing to myself.
oh, and then do what misskortney said. it's nice to be able to go to a restaurant, see a movie, whatever, all on a whim.0 -
