I Refuse To Be Discouraged

I did my weekly weigh yesterday and saw zero change in my weight from the previous week. I got the exact same reading. It was a bit disappointing to be sure, but it doesn't discourage me a bit. At least I hadn't gained any.

Instead, it just motivates me to pay even more attention to my goals and reassess what I have been doing. I've been a little lax the past week or so, imbibing in a few more beers than I should in the evenings and blowing off opportunities to get out and exercise. Ok, so I just have to tighten up on my self discipline, focus on my long term goals, and go for it.

So today I kicked myself in the backside and got myself back on track.

Like you said the key is to not stop doing what you are doing. My downfall has always been to just stop making the effort, if I would have just looked at a few bad choices as minor setbacks instead of reason to fail I would be so much better off right now. Bad habits are easy to fall back into, just keep working on the good habits. I know everything is easier with practice.

    Quite right.

Here are a few quotes from Thomas Edison that I have always liked:

“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”

“Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is to try just one more time.”

“Negative results are just what I want. They’re just as valuable to me as positive results. I can never find the thing that does the job best until I find the ones that don’t.”

“The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense.”

That's right. You get right back on that wagon and start crackin' the whip.
