newbie getting life back on track

Hiya
16 years of fighting cfs and being used as a guinea pig by the medical profession plus some not very helpful genetics have left me with a pile of weight I am now aiming to shift and rock bottom self confidence and fate (and a smartphone) has lead me to find this site
I have tried all the usual diets and programs but because I often have times when I am flat on my back I always seem to fail at them - but this time is different - my cfs is pretty stable and I am going to be sensible - having the app is really great as I can see real time what calories I am eating and using and sets me free to make my own choices.
So I am hopeful this time will work - I started two weeks ago and shifted 2lb so far - would have liked it to be more but that was my finding my feet time so this week am really knuckling down - I will do it, I will shift the weight, I will suceed this time - my goal is to be able to wear a pretty summer dress next summer and not feel like a whale who much prefers mens tshirts and baggy jeans to hide in. (which probably means I have put a curse on the english summer 2013 so sorry about that!! )
It is so nice to find a site where everyone is cheering on everyone else whether they are aiming to loose a couple of lb or a couple stone - loosing lbs while gaining friends seems like a good deal to me!
