i'm F 5'0 158lbs my BMR is 1383, MFP has my calories at 1200 i do 6-7 1-2 hour workouts a week of zumba usually high intensity... i was losing around 2lbs per week and now it seems to have slowed its now averaging at .5lbs per week. i havnt been eating above my calorie goal and i dont usually eat all the exercise calories back usually i dont at all. MFP has my TDEE at 1870 and a deficit of 670 per day without exercise. is this the right route to go down? so far i have lost 33lbs using this method i still have 28lbs to go. is it normal to slow down this badly? i have only lost half an inch on my thighs in the last 2 months and gone 2 bra cup sizes in 3 months but nothing is comming off the hips or tummy areas or even my arms... could this be muscle build?

I think you're doing great and I would keep on going, if you're comfortable. It is normal for the body to not lose in a linear fashion but to seemingly do it in 'fits and starts'. And you could be building muscle. It's sad but the scale is bad indicator of progress and measuring has a lot of problems, too. Do your clothes feel better? Do you feel better?

You seem to be doing great!! Keep it up. I would add doing planks, crunches, sit-ups, bicycle crunches, and push-ups after zumba to strengthen your tummy.

i think its because my scales had broken... they completley stopped working this morning and wouldnt switch on again so i dug out my old scales and weighed and had lost 3lbs since the last time i weighed which was about 2 weeks ago. i was still weighing the same for 2 weeks and i was doing good so i think it was the scales.
it seems to go in fits and starts but maybe thats how my body works... kind of annoying but ill keep pushing on.
thanks for the tip on the tummy exercises it seems to be a layer of fat covering the belly. oh well on with the zumba!
