BMI: My Goal is to be Overweight

Options
The topic title is tongue-in-cheek, of course, and the thread just another aimed at ranting about the absurdity of BMI and how it ignores the likely benefits of even a basic strength training regimen.

I'm 6'0", 212, with 18.6% body fat and a BMI of 28.7. According to the NIH/WHO, my body fat % is mid-normal, but my BMI is "High" or "Overweight."

The "overweight" BMI tag I wear as a badge of honor. Here's why: even at 6'0", 185, my goal weight, my BMI will be 25.1, which is still considered "overweight." Yet, at that goal weight, my body fat % will likely be <12%, which is considered "low" according to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

In what alternative universe is a guy who is 6'0", 185, "overweight," regardless of his body fat percentage? Get this: a guy who is 6'0", 155, is considered "mid-normal" according to BMI. If I weighed 155 at 6'0", I'd be gaunt and appear to be terminally ill.
