Fruit

Oh my goodness, I love eating fruit. However, I find that a majority of my carbs/sugars come from fruits.

Living in South Florida, I am surrounded by fresh fruits whether it be fruit stands, the grocery store, or those delicious mangos that grow in my back yard. But really, I don't need those extra sugars!

Your options on fruit? Has cutting out fruit helped you? Are there any fruits that are low in sugar/carb?
I've found that by not eating bananas anymore, I don't feel bloated but I have yet to give up any other types.

I was avoiding fruit for a while because of all the sugar and then I did the GM diet that calls for only fruit (no banana)one of the 7 days and I was amazed at how good I felt and how much water weight I lost. Now that I am off that I have been eating berries, watermelon and cantaloupe anytime I want something sweet and the weight is still dropping, ( I too live in South Florida and everything is good right now, especially melons and tomatoes) so for me it's working , I say do what works for you!!!!!

Melon is another difficult fruit for me. I stopped buying it, actually. I can easily sit and eat a whole melon in one sitting...I love the stuff!

I actually eat 3 servings a day now since starting the Herbalife program (so a banana, an apple, and a cup of grapes, for example), which is 3 more servings than I used to eat before I started my weight loss journey, and my weight loss actually increased. It's probably because I'm eating fruit instead of sugary snacks.

I find that I have more energy, stamina, and feel overall better now that I have Fruit in my daily diet. I hear you on the melon because I ma the same with cantaloupe :) I love it. I would say that you should eat fruit if you want it. Your body processes natural fruit sugar differently than refined sugar. I wish they had a natural and refined sugar tab on here as it is different but I just figure it out myself lol. You also get lots of fiber, protein, antioxidants and they taste yummy!!!

Fruit is an excellent source of various essential nutrients. The sugar content in sugar can be disregarded, providing you aren't indulging in it 24/7.

I would say anywhere above 300g of sugar coming from fruit is getting close to too much. (but even then, only if you're completely sedentary)

I love fruit too and i eat it daily, just not much. I'll usually half a cup- to a full cup of berries such as strawberries or blueberries. If i'm making a whey protein shake that day, most of it goes into my shake. =]
