Not feeling it the second time around

So I've done this before...not with this site to help me but I have successful lost 30 pounds before in a matter of 4 months. But for some reason, it's just not working this time. I know it might have to do with a new job that has me sitting most of the day but I'm really getting down about that fact that I'm overweight.

Friends tell me that I look fine the way I am but medically and to me, psychologically, I am and I feel fat. I try my hardest at keeping within my calorie intake even if I can't make it to the gym. When I do go and workout I bust my butt but still am having slow progress.

Can anyone out there relate to me?? I want to feel great the same way I did when I was a healthy weight and fit back into my clothes. I can't even wear half of the clothes in my closet and it's just not fair. This weight snuck up on me and I don't know how it happend.

Someone please help me.

I can totally relate! I am at this for the second time too. I gave myself a new user name and created a new profile to start fresh. Today is my first day for the new me, but it is hard. I don't feel like doing anything. I am not motivated, and I dread the thought of working out right now. I hope that if I just push myself into a routine it will just become habit and I won't have to work so hard at it.

    Good Luck to you!:flowerforyou:

Well, first of all and probably most importantly, you are trying to do something about it.

I've had a similar experience, and it sounds like you need a kick start. If you can eat healthy, exercise, and drink plenty of water for one whole week, you'll notice a difference, and THAT is the best motivator.

Even if it's not on the scale, you'll feel it. But I'll bet you'll see it on the scale too! Friends can be your best motivator or your worst enemy! Do it for yourself!

Good luck! Let us know how you're doing!

Thanks and you're right about friends. Some of my friends try and tempt me with things that "they can't finish" and it's stuff I shouldn't have. It can be hard to say no sometime but other times not. My boyfriend at least knows I am trying to work on this. I'm just glad that he loves me no matter what I look like. Thanks again.

I think I'll take a long walk at lunch time

I also think you need to set you expectations back a bit. 30lbs in 4 weeks is too much too fast. You need to lose realistically to help ensure you don't gain it back. Crash dieting doesn't work. Channing gave great advice. Set small realistic goals and aim for those each week. You will see progress and feel great. Good luck and do take that walk at lunch!
