I'm a military wife living about 2500 kms from all our family and friends the move was hard (4 years later it's STILL hard but we do love where we are, Alberta has been good to us so far) I went to a wedding this past January and realized how big I had become so I joined MFP and have lost 27 lbs so far - from a 16 to a 12, 1x and XL to size large/medium (pics on my profile)... I felt like I was going at this weight loss journey alone and it's been rough... I don't have support from family - they are overweight as well and don't care to lose weight or be healthy...
I have been trying so hard to get hubby on board and he's finally done so - so glad to have his support... he's actually gotten addicted to the app on his phone :) now we can talk about calories in/out exercise and all that and he knows what I'm talking about... anyone who wants to add a military cook (Canadian Forces) can add him chainsaw97 is his name on here and he could use some extra support as well :)
 have a great day all!

I love that your doing this as a couple, I know there are those out there that wish they had a spouse on-board with them.

Both of you keep up the hard work.

That's awesome, keep up the great work. There is always plenty of support on here :) I LOVE IT.
  • Congrats! You have made great progress- keep up the good work. It may be that he saw how successful you were and wanted to join in. Maybe once you lose even more the rest of your family will join in too.

My husband is "kind of" joining in. He likes the app, but has only counted his calories a few days so far (very sporadic). He showed me his "dream body" last night (from a music video). I didn't say this out loud but I hope he realizes that to get that body he would have to be good everyday AND workout!!! I am hoping maybe he will completely jump on the bandwagon once he sees I am making positive and permanent changes and I look FABULOUS!!! Baby steps, right?

baby steps for sure - hubby thought there was no way he could keep within his calorie count and is surprised some days he has extra at the end of the day (maybe only a few but still...)
tbh MFP has replaced fb for me :)
