Pyle Heart Rate Monitor belt issues.

Does anyone own a Pyle heart rate minitor?
Received mine last night but silly enough, I can't open the latch on the chest belt -_-
I know it sounds silly but I've looked at the instructions (all 1 diagram of them) and I'm a little confused. I also don't want to go around yanking at it for fear of breaking the unit.
Help!
Just need to know if anyone has found them difficult and if its safe to pull at it or if there's some trick to this seemingly simple latch.
