pilates?

thinking about joining a class. but i want some experience stories? whats it like? what do you get from it? how has it helped you?
Would i be better of starting with that and then joining a cardio class like aerobics as well once im back in uni (cheaper)? or shall i just go straight with cardio?
I want to lose more fat off my legs. but i also want to get stronger and leaner. I cant afford the gym. but i can afford 1 class while im home. 2 classes while im in uni.
So. Thoughs?
