Any thoughts on B12 shots? My friends gets them and he loves it! Says it gives him more energy which helps him lose the weight. I am tempted to get them. Just curious if anyone here takes them or has input. Thanks!!!

Unless you have an actual B12 deficiency, there is no real reason to get the shot. If you think you might have one, you can get a blood test from your doctor. Most people are able to get the amount they need from the food they eat!0

I agree with the fact that unless you are deficient, shots aren't really worth it.
For the same effect you can up foods that are rich in B vitamins. Or you could take an oral B12 supplement.0 -
I did it loved it lost about 20lbs from Jan to May but then stop cause I couldn't afford them and just started exercising while watching what I eat and lost 10lbs from May until now. So it might be a good starter but it seemed to stop working after awhile.0

Is that for the 500 calorie diet combo with B12 shot? Or just the b12 shot by itself? I know people that did the combo and gained ALL of the weight back and then some after they started eating normal calories again. So, Im not sure. I don't know much about it other than that.0

I had my B12 level tested recently and it was really great so I would not get them just to do it. I'm vegetarian and on metformin for diabetes (they say that can cause issues with lower b12), but no problems. I do eat eggs and take a multivitamin daily. They say a lot of Americans are low with it due to so many of us using OTC and prescription meds for indigestion too. So if you think your level could be low, then just get it tested. Another big one that is low in most Americans (maybe others too) is Vitamin D. I know so many people who are low in this and I was extremely low myself. That can lead to fatigue and a lot of other problems too supposedly. I'm not a Dr so decide what you think.0
