Exercising with an injury

Hi!

I injured my shoulder a couple of days ago. I tried to workout yesterday, but was unable to do any of the exercises which involved the shoulder (no planks/plank jacks etc, and many of the exercises involving weights). I am going to give my shoulder a rest for a bit, and up my cardio in the mean time. How much cardio should I do so that I don't loose momentum? I have be doing the 30ds (again...I did it in March as well) and started the c25k 2 weeks ago. I start week 3 tomorrow. Any ideas on exercises I can do that don't involve the shoulder...and how much should I extend my cardio? My sister's wedding is in 2 weeks and my anniversary is in a month. I can't afford to stop losing now!
I'd appreciate some advice!

Thanks!

Do you know what the nature and severity of your injury is? Have you had it checked out by a doctor?

Injuries come in different varieties- until you know how badly you've hurt your shoulder, it's too soon to make a determination about what you can and can't do as far as exercise is concerned.

It hurts to move my arm up or down and side to side. (I can't even lift my arm to brush my hair). I can't have hardly any weight in it (I can't even lift my purse). I have not been to a doctor. I live in a remote area and it takes 2-3 months to get an appt. It's not bad enough I want to go to emerg. It's not terribly painful unless I'm moving it. Then it is. I have torn ligaments before (ankle/foot) and this is not nearly that bad! lol I really think that if I just rest it and do some very gentle stretches it will be fine. I am just afraid of quitting strength training (even temporarily) and relying solely on cardio. I'm only doing 20-45 minutes 3x week of cardio right now, not including my hiit training, so I could up that. I am not sure how much I should do or how long to rest my arm. I am going to be tempted to get back at it as soon as possible! lol
