I have been on this journey for over a year now and im very happy with my results.
I stalled for about 6 months and gained back about 17 lbs, happily most of those have'fallen off again,
and im back in the game
The problem is the calorie burn, i use to be able to burn up to 1200 calories a day now no matter how hard I
work i end up with a burn of 500 or below :frown: I know the less you weigh the less calories you burn
so why am i so Bummed over it ?

Why are you bummed? Because it's d*mn depressing, that's why.

That calorie burn is one of my accomplishments and it's being taken away from me!! It was more than a little discouraging realizing the 445 cals I thought I was burning running (what it was when I started) is now 318. That's 25%. I lost 25% of my calories burned and I want them back. For me, I've switched to burning cals other times to do it.

Also, burning less cals = eating less food. Hard to do.

But, you are doing this to be healthy, so keep that in mind. I tell myself that all the time. I've also done some looking into exercise afterburn, but with the lowered heart rate it's getting harder to do.

Regardless, you are doing great and I hope you are feeling better today!

Numbers have a strange way of bummin' us out. I don't know why, but something about the numbers really does us in. Nonetheless, be mindful of the things you can do now that you couldn't before & that my perk you up a bit. Think about how much better you're treating yourself than you used to treat yourself. You've made some great strides and you can definitely be happy with that. The mere fact that you've been here a year speaks volumes. You're consistent - in good and bad times - and that's super commendable.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Maybe try some different exerises and frighten your body into burning more cals? Instead of walking/running do a gym class. Instead of weight training, go running - you see where I am going with this? Maybe your body is too used to your routine?

leslisa- are you changing up your calorie burning activities? I know that I am a creature of habit and that is one thing that took me forever to get thru my thick head, but it really will help. Also, have you been trying HIIT training? The interval training will shake up your calorie burning.
I also would be so bummed. I haven't lost enough weight to get to that point, but I have hit plateaus where no matter, how much I worked out, I stopped losing. That's what it took for my metabolism to wake up and poke along-lol.
Weight loss sucks:( It's a science and an art. I'm neither a scientist or artist! lol
Good luck and congrats on the weight loss so far!

I do change them up, also the time I do them, however, it's mostly due to weight loss and endurance. I started at 155 and am down to 133. I just don't have as much to lose anymore (I am very dense boned and have a lot of muscle). I do work on interval training, but last two weeks, I've been working towards cardio (hoping it will help with my allergies - allergist said it probably would make me breath better if nothing else) which means running, elliptical, and biking. It's been worth it. I don't know if you can put a price on energy level and mine has skyrocketed. Since I'm 42 yo that's huge for me.
