    Baggies of cut up veggies/fruits, string cheese, portioned out nuts/crackers/tortilla chips, sandwhiches, wraps, plan plan plan!

    I have been taste testing and doing online reviews for protein bars. I like to always keep something portable (non-perishable) in my purse. I don't make a habit of eating them daily. Life happens and sometimes you need something and they can be healthier than fast food.

    How quick do you want?

    I'm a pretty ordinary cook, pushed for time, and I'm not making the family follow my diet. I also have a very high boredom threshold and cook the same most evenings.

    Half an onion, chopped and softened in a cpl of tsp olive oil
    whole courgette/zucchini chopped
    few mushrooms chopped
    200g passata
    2 trimmed chicken thigh fillets, chopped and browned

    whack that lot on the hob for about 20 mins and serve with 60g brown rice - that's about 500 calories

    sometimes I flavour with chilli or Worcestershire sauce, swap rice for wholewheat pasta and tuna/salmon for the chicken to keep it interesting.

    otherwise a tin of soup or a ready prepped stir fry

    pack of precooked chicken sausage - sliced & nuked
    saute some yellow squash or zucchini

    combine those and dump in bowl that already has your fav. chopped herbs, fresh lemon juice, capers & olives

    toss and yum
