I have always wanted to lose weight and even tried many different things. Diets, workout dvds, workout games on the Wii, but I got bored too soon and quit. Did my second weigh in and I have gained 7 pounds. I have topped the scale at 194. This the highest weight I have ever been. Please Help me. How do I not get bored, what can I do to lose weight, tone my problem areas. Help I am just at a loss and I don't want to be 194 anymore

Set yourself short term goals and once you achieve them, move the goalpost. Whether this be lose 5pounds, do 4 pushups on my toes, run for 5minutes straight, be able to do a hover/bridge for 1minute 30. Without goals you are just floating along with no objective and you can never have any success.
There is no such thing in the healthy weight loss world as a diet. You need to make your mind up that from now on, you are a different person and you are going to change how you treat your body. Throw out all the crap food in your pantry. Replace it with top notch, healthy food. Or buy one of the Biggest Loser personal trainer books and follow their shopping list and recipes.
Cook a tonne of really healthy meals one weekend, divide them into weighed correct sized servings and freeze them. Do this once a fortnight or 3 weeks to ensure you always have a stock of healthy meals.
Get yourself a gym membership and personal trainer and work your *kitten* off. Or get yourself a gym buddy-someone who will make you feel guilty if you stand them up. Working out alone is boring as **** if you don't want to be there. Otherwise *see my line below about the heart rate monitor/Nike+. Compete against yourself.
You'll always hear that little voice 'oh but exercising is boring. You can't be bothered. You're too tired. Is that a cloud 500kms off in the distance? Better not exercise it might rain!'. As soon as you even get an inkling that the voice is going to start up, tell it to shut up, put your workout gear on and head out. I wouldn't say you're 'bored' as such, you just have no objective. Find something you LOVE (looots of people love Zumba) whether it be cycling, rowing, netball, poledancing, rock climbing and do it because you love it. I like working out as soon as I finish work, even if I get dressed at work and go for a run in a nearby park. You won't let the voice start up if you don't allow it time to think.
Buy yourself a heart rate monitor that counts calories so you know your exercise calorie deficit is correct. Also, if you can, and you like walking/running, get yourself some Nike + sneakers, an iPod and the Nike+ Apple sensor chip to track how far, how fast you've run/walked. It tracks on a website which I find FANTASTIC.
Book yourself in to do a 5km run or a half marathon and have that to aim for.0 -
I agree with wrecktechno.
You can add me for motivation and support, I won't let you down in that area! I do my best to comment/message everyone for additional support. I want everyone to be happy with themselves.
You can do this! :flowerforyou:0 -
Yeh, add me if you want. I'm just starting out my weightloss (again) and often require a kick up my butt to get motivated0
