Last night during 30 DS, I started getting cramp in thigh while doing side lunges. It was a slow on coming one but I couldnt get it to stretch out. I took a potassium pill last night but is there something else to help or to prevent it? It hurts so bad today like someone punched me in the leg. Not a fan of Bananas or I would eat one of those a day. I am assuming that it is a potassium problem.

get a softball place it over the sore spot, and keep rolling it over the muscle.
    It will get better.

But for longer term, drink diet tonic water. Keeps the muscle cramps away. ☺

Foam roll!! You can get one at Target, sporting stores. I used to have this problem, I also run long distances as well. Bananas, extra potassium supplements, new stretches, episome salt baths. You named it, I tried it. I would wake up several times a night with charlie horses. One day, I finally bought a foam roller. It hurts like a motha at first to get all the knots, but I haven't had a problem since. I will roll out all parts of my legs before I work out or run, but I try to foam roll them every day. An added plus is I can run faster now too!!

Foam rollers offer many of the same benefits as a sports massage, without spending the dough. The foam roller stretches muscles and tendons and breaks down soft tissue adhesions and scar tissue. You use your own body weight and a foam roller. It's a "self-massage" or the technical -myofascial release-. It break up trigger points and increases circulation.

You can find examples on the internet of exactly how to roll your calves, glutes, etc.
