I did really good last week, droped 2 lbs. Felt that I was doing so far this week... but the scale is back up 2 lbs, and it's only the middle of the week. ugh...

this weight loosing stuff is monotonous. Wish I could just snap my fingers!!!

HA! welcome to the MFP world my dear. A world where things happen in months, not weeks. Stick with it, it works, it just takes time.
  • I weight in once a week and try to avoid checking any other time. I weigh in on Wednesday mornings before breakfast. Keeping it consistent makes for a more accurate read, and doing it only once a week helps keep me sane since I know the scale will go up and down in the short run--it's the long run we're working towards! (I also keep the scale in my closet and only bring it out on weight in days to avoid the temptation!)

I do the same thing, only, my weigh in day is Tuesdays. (I consider it "Fat Tuesday" )

    I'm sorry :brokenheart:
I'm back up 2 pounds too - even after all the cardio and proper nutrition. Never ending story. It'll come as banks said - but I do wish I was "Jeanie" and at a blink of my eyes, boom, I'd be thin again.

snap my fingers, wiggle my nose, blink my eyes...I wish!

I know exactly why I haven't lost much weight this summer and why I lost 2 lbs, gained 1.5, lost 0.5 gained 1, etc etc. for the past few weeks. I haven't been working out much, almost at all, and I've been eating too much and not making great choices. I have to refocus. I just recently got under 200lbs and I'm NOT going back over it again!

Well, the good news is - now you know what maintenance looks like! Not so bad huh?

Now get back to work! :grumble:  :ohwell:
  • I've been exercising, eating right, drinking ungodly amounts of water (infact that's all I drink). It's not that I'm slacking this week. I have been a fitness guru! Just one of those days I guess, swollen muscles from weights yesterday and it is about that time of the month (sorry guys).

I do weigh myself once a week but I occasionally step on the scale to peek.

The only time you should really pay attention to what the scale says is on your "designated weigh-in" day each week........the weight can vary SOOO MUCH in just a day or so; depends on how active you are, what you've been eating, how much water you're drinking, etc...........

Hang in there, it'll keep moving in the right direction. Just remember, it took ??? time to gain to where you are now, it's gonna take time to take it back off too!!! If you've got little ones who came along close together, it takes a lot longer for your body to recover from those pregnancies!! YOU CAN DO IT!~~~:flowerforyou:

I know, I know. This week I gained 4 pounds (I'm addicted to that scale) and then lost 4.5 lbs. Freaked me out. Just keep at it.

I think it does matter to weigh at the same time on the same designated day. I always weigh more on Mondays, probably from the weekend and not working out. I weigh every Wednesday. I figure that is the middle of the week, middle of the working out week and probably the best average of my weight for that week. And I can weight 2-3 pounds more during "that time of the month".
