what / when to expect?

hi everyone ..i started my cardio & strength training 2 and a half weeks back...i have lost one inch from my thigh, butt waist but none from my arms.:( i have hardly lost 3 pounds ...when do we start seeing results?? when would i actually see a big differemnce? should i be patient? sometimes i feel awful and feel like giving up but i do seem better or maybe its just psychological ?
