I've just started taking Impact Whey Isolate to get more protein into my diet to build lean muscle.. I'm just wondering when i should take my shake.. Should i have more then one a day? I tend to exercise first thing in the morning unless i'm on an early shift then i exercise at tea time (and have tea after).. I exercise 3-5 times a week depending on work commitments.

When is best to have these and should i take them on rest days?

Immediately after workout or within a half hour is fine. Alot of people will say there is a fifteen minute "window" that you need to take it in, i haven't researched this enough to know but i just enjoy a shake immediately after my workout. i take 2 shakes a day but thats just to hit my daily cals. Real food is always a better choice than protein shakes, but it just makes it easier and convenient for me to drink a shake as opposed to cooking more food.

Thanks that's really helpful.. so you still take them on rest days? I can't physically eat more then i do so look to have one to two shakes a day i.e. one in morn and one in eve is this OK? Or should i not have it on a rest day?

Unless you're training fasted, there's no need to worry about timing.
