CRAVINGS!

Hello Ladies n Gents...
I get terrible sugar cravings. I don't mean like something an apple can get my mind off of... I mean cravings for cookies, cake and evil foods like that. I'll even find myself getting cranky until I cave.
How does everyone deal with their cravings? Maybe i can use one of your trick before I ruin all my progress. -_-

THANKS!

My trick is to keep myself busy....like being here. Takes my mind off food very easily.

Budget a small amount of calories for a treat every day.

I like to have a small ice cream treat, some graham crackers with Nutella, a couple pieces of chocolate, or a cookie or two. It helps to know that I can have some....even if I can't have it ALL.

But everyone is different - some people don't do well with moderation. It's has to be what works for you.

Cravings last approximately 3 seconds unless you continue to focus on them. Keep yourself busy and/or change your thought process at that time. However, if you must cave then just eat a small amount of it to satisy yourself. Don't set yourself up for a binge by constantly restricting yourself. Hope this helps.

As long as you have some room left in your daily calories intake you can eat something you really want. Another option is if you can exercise to burn some calories then you can use those to eat something you are craving for. These two options can help you with cravings. I am doing both on different occassions.
  • i keep myself busy, and when that doesnt work, i let myself have a healthy version of whatever treat i want.

so, i love chocolate ice cream. i make dairy free 'ice cream' using this recipe:

I start to organize...or if I have a craving for something, its because I must be hungry so I would go for a small salad, cereal, or a tablespoon of peanut butter and lots of water to help with not wanted to go buy ice cream.

I eat a sugar-free Werther's Original. Not ideal and I wouldn't eat too many of them, but one lasts a long time and the flavour satisfies my desire for something sweet.

Two words....sugar fast. I did a 10 day detox where I couldn't have sugar and I must say it sucks at first but by day 5 you feel really good. Then after that you realize you don't have to have sugar to function, and it doesn't quite taste the same when you go back to it. My cravings have slowed down. I am doing no sugar today. If this is too extreme try to find low cal foods that are limitedly processed. I love TCBY's new frozen yougurt flavors. I swear they taste and look just like ice cream but are only 110-160 cals a serving.
