I'm forcing myself to workout whether I 'feel' like it or not but I want to know how everyone else deals with those days when you're sore/tired/frustrated/angry/depressed and just want to throw in that methaphorical towel? :P

I look at the current pictures of myself and ask "Do i want to continue looking this way" or "Do you want to keep taking those darn depression pills" Next thing i'm heading to the gym or the park for a walk.

I love working out. Cardio is an incredible mood booster. That being said, when it starts to feel like a chore I take a few days off to give myself a break. I never take off more than three days though. At that point I start to lose my drive. By day 3 or 4 of the break I get back to it. Once I start again, I'm always happy to be back.
Another thing I do is vary my workouts. Instead of my cardio Dvds, I'll take long walks, cut the lawn, go bike riding, etc.0 -
Maybe I should get together a bunch of pictures and reasons why I'm doing this and put it in a folder for days like these. Thank you for the support!0

I should just relax a little. I'm constantly stressing about needing to workout EVERY week day for an hour but I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world if I gave myself a little break every now and then. And I did some cardio in my workout today and I do feel a lot happier. Weird how that works! Thanks!0

I was watching a bunch of youtube videos on weight loss a few weeks ago and one of the girls in one of the videos said something that really stuck out to me. She said that when you put too much pressure on yourself, you set yourself up for success. Its really true if you think about it! For example, if you say "I am going to work out for an hour every single day" that is putting a ton of pressure on yourself. Then lets say you miss Wednesday. That becomes incredible discouraging, and you're more likely to say "Well, I'll just wait till next week and make that week different". You need to be a little bit more easy going on yourself. Plus, rest days are super important. I think you should start off with a smaller goal like working out 3 times a week, and then once you really get into that, consider adding an extra day. Once you take the pressure off yourself, you'll find working out to be fun and less like a chore! Good luck, I hope this helps.
