Help with IBS-D

I was diagnosed with IBS-D a few years back and had an allergy test done which showed that I was intolerant to about 14 different foods (many of the foods I was already told to avoid to help with the IBS as well). I lost about 50lbs in 3 months from the elimination diet and then got gallstones and had my gallbladder removed. After that I struggled with following such a restrictive diet and pretty much ate what I wanted and dealt with the constant need to run to a bathroom for about year and then I got pregnant. I was very sick during the first trimester but after that I could eat whatever I wanted and never had any attacks. Weird right? Anyway, my son is now 7 months old and I have not gone a day without having attacks since having him! I started the elimination diet again about a month ago and I'm still running to the bathroom about 5 times a day (which is a huge improvement from a few months ago)!
I was wondering how long it took most of you to stop having daily/weekly attacks? One doctor told me that I could have attacks until I lose a significant amount of weight, do you think there is truth to that statement? (I have about 100lbs to lose). Also, do you take supplements or prescription medicines for IBS-D and if so, what? Lastly, I would love for some encouragement from those of you that have remained attack free for a while now!
My former boss threatened to fire me because I went to the bathroom too much and I have lost many friends because I am just too scared to leave home. I have also suffered from depression and anxiety in the past (since having my son I haven't had any problems with the depression and anxiety)! I refuse to believe that this is all there is too life and I am determined to find a way to overcome my IBS-D!
Thank you in advance for all your help and encouraging words!

Did your doctor put you on any medications to help with the attacks? When my doctor thought I had IBS, he prescribed something called Dicyclomine (not sure on the spelling) which would help with the cramping.0

None of the doctors I have seen have ever recommended medications so I think I may just have to ask next time I go!0
