Honestly, regardless of what anyone actually says, it really doesn't matter. What does matter is that you actually do it. So, when you ask when the best time to exercise is, the answer is: Pick a time when you are the most likely to be able to exercise.0

I have heard that exercising in the morning speeds up your metabolism for that day. not too sure if there is any truth in this.
But Im a MORNING EXERCISE person. I choose mornings because Im less likely to get distracted, ive made it a routine and I find it gives me a bit of a kick start for the day. I find now if I don't exercise in the mornings im groggy during the day (must be psychocological - but a good thing for me)
I have also heard that people who exercise in the mornings are more likely to stick with it (I can agree with this one)0 -
Whenever you are able to fit it into your day.
I personally workout at night because I cannot motivate myself to get up any earlier than I already do. Then after working out I take a shower and it helps me sleep well. I will work out in the mornings on Saturdays and this seems to really kick start my day, but it is all depends on when works for you. :glasses:0 -
I've heard the main reason morning is better is it gets metabolism running a little higher for the whole day, I don't know if this is true or not, but I started walking/ jogging first thing in the morning about a month ago and it was really hard at first but it really makes my day now!! I love getting outside when the air is still crisp and the birds are singing!!! (and it's really helped getting the last 10 pounds off!!) :bigsmile:0

I used to workout after I got home from work, but it was very easy to talk myself out of doing workouts. My oldest started HS, and got involved in sports. Having to go pick her up from practice would interupt my routine. One day I just decided that in order to be consistant in my workout routine, that I would have to get up in the morning. I don't enjoy having to get up:glasses: , but my workout is done by 6:30 am. I never have to contemplate what has to be done when I get home. I think it is all about being consistant, and then the metabolism will start working. I lost weight working out mornings, after work and evenings.0

I'm a morning workout person. I find it easier just to get it over with so later in the day I can't make an excuse. I did a cardio workout one night and I couldn't go to sleep for a couple hours after when I normally. It was not fun, lol0
