Caloric defecit-how much is enough

I have been using this sight mainly for calorie logging for a few months. I have found the database quite impressive. I have recently started reading the posts from everyone and have been intrigued by the wealth of knowledge. I have a question regarding caloric intake. How much of a deficit do you need daily to achieve a 1lb a week weight loss. Conversely, how much of a defecit is too much(when your body switches to starvation mode)? Lastly, should the bulk of the calories come early in the day or be centered around workouts? Thanks for any tips???

To lose one pound a week you must be in a 3500 calorie deficit
3500 calories equals 1 pound of fat
To me it does matter when you take it your calories just how many, so what would be the difference if you ate them in the morning or at night, just matters how many you are taking in and burning.0 -
