My daughter's jeans!

I put a pair of my daughter's jeans in my closet last Christmas because they were too cute to get rid of and she was doing a clean out before going back to school. I tried them on just for laughs, and almost couldn't get them on (or OFF!) because of my hips.
Yesterday I was cleaning my own closet and found them. Pulled them up, and they fit perfectly (except that they're four inches too long; she's 6'4"), so now I have a feeling that some of my own winter school clothes must not fit too well.
I love this site. I had issues with weight most of my life until I decided to just accept myself for what I am, just not concentrate on a daily mirror battle. That worked well for a long time, and I was able to quit fixating on the scale number or the clothing size. I'd spent so much time trying to cut calories that I didn't want to do it ever again. But then I was gaining steadily, and I didn't want to have health issues. Now I finally know how to eat enough for my daily routine and it's not a punishing calculation. I used to try to cut calories way too much, and here I'm figuring out how to eat just the right amount at last to make for a very slow loss. I stopped posting for two weeks while I traveled, but I was still able to recognize when I wasn't eating enough as well as when I needed to put down the fork. For the first time in my adult life, I can restrain myself from eating trigger foods, yet I am almost at the point where I can feel how much is the right amount to eat to keep myself fueled, to enjoy eating, but not to get emotionally involved in every meal. What a change! Putting on those pants made me realize how well this works. In the past, a pound every week or two would not have been "enough" for me as a goal weight loss. Now I'm almost ready to change my settings to 1/2 pound a week.
