I've been wanting to try Tai Chi ever since I watched a group of elderly men and women work out in a park near where I was staying in China 13 years ago. Ok, a long latency. My sense of balance is a little off at the moment and I am concerned about falling while I learn the poses. I found some DVDs on Amazon that teach Tai Chi from a seated position. Has anyone tried them? Are they useful, particularly if one hope to progress to traditional Tai Chi? Thanks so much.

Hi:
I teach taiji and have not seen any of the seated taiji videos. A simple exercise to improve your balance is standing meditation-gives you a lot of feedback and really improves balance!0 -
HI!
How are you? I just saw your post. Thanks for your response. Do you know where I could find out more about standing meditation? I've done walking meditations in groups but never standing meditation.
