It's terrible, I know! I keep organic dark chocloate squares around...the ones I buy are about 30cals a peice...Sometimes I just exercise more to make sure i have extra calories and just give into the cravings...The exercise helps with cramps, too.0

I'm in a similar boat. I have to admit, I do appease the uterus. If she's unhappy, we all are. I still end up within my calories, though-- just perhaps not with the best food choices. Remember, it's just a couple days, then things go back to normal.0

Theres a chip shop just down the road and I just wanna run down and eat everything they have on their menu!0

Make a chocolate milkshake. 140 calories. 1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, about 1/3 cup milk (or more or less depending on desired consistency).0

Figure out your cravings and try to get a healty alt.
Nutella on an apple is just enough chocolate and the apple helps you feel more satisfied.
Add some avocado to a turkey sandwich for some creamy texture.
I normally crave salty stuff.0 -
Exercise actually helps with cramps. Since I've started working out I hardly get my usual PMS symptoms. Only cravings, but your body needs the calories and fuel for those days anyway. So have some chips or sweets to satisfy your womb.lol. just watch your portions and continue to workout (if you can) to control your PMS. I hope this helps0

Make bruschetta with olive oil - crispy, oily, low enough in calories that you won't have to starve the next day... It helps my cravings a lot.0

Usually I'm a chocolate person when I get mine, so I don't know how to advise you if you want greasy foods. I would definitely try to limit yourself somewhat since it can be an unhealthy habit to give in to cravings every month, because if you can cheat for your period, what else can you cheat for? It's a slippery slope... I know they may have healthier options for chips, like baked ones, or those Special K ones etc. so try finding a healthy alternative.0

A McDonald's hamburger is only 250 calories. A cheesburger is 300, a honey mustard snack wrap (grilled) is 250, and small french fries are 230. Indulge in the little things and get your grease fix this way
**Info from the McDonald's website**0 -
I need grease!
I love grease too during TOMs visit. I love having fried shrimp. But instead of eating all of them in the shrimp basket (like i used to), I have 10 out of the 21 , and give the rest to my little ones to share. And the exercise I do to account for the calories helps with the back pain and cramps. All the water I drink now, helps with the headaches I used to get as well.0 -
I try to eat alot of grapefruit it combats at least some of the water gain and I walk extra hard that helps cramps0

I go over my calorie limit, but I still eat healthy. Lots of healthy dark chocolate with high cacao (70% or more), peanut butter, fruits. I really just keep munching, but stay healthy!0

It's one, maybe one and a half days out of the month .. decide the one thing that will make you feel the very best and have it. There is no reason to put yourself through torture for the sake of a 'diet'. One cheeseburger, even one day of cheeseburgers and fries will not ruin an entire month's worth of work.0

Firing up the grill...gonna smoke some meat for ya!! I'm a helper like that!!0

This^^^ Exercise helps me. It had better bloody help on Sunday - I'm running my first 5K and Aunt Flo is coming to town that day!!0 -
I drink LOTS of water the week prior to help with any possible cramping and during I keep it up while trying to more more. Moving will help with cramps and the extra water will help with any possible water weight gain from any sodium cravings one might have.
* I tend to crave salt more than anything sweet the week prior. So, if I don't intake a lot of water, I can have a 4lbs+ gain for a day or so and a very uncomfortable tummy.0 -
If you find the cure for this PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE share with me! I suffer every single month about a week before my period. I crave the fattiest, saltiest, and sugariest foods. I usually give into these temptations and gain several pounds. Ugh!0

I have the same problem with wanting salty greasy things when PMSing and on my period. This recipe is my little cure.
What this recipe describes is very similar to what I do:
Only instead of cooking oil, I use PAM Cooking Spray (I know it's the same thing, but I feel more confident that I won't over use wit the spray, also it covers the sheet better).
I only use one potato, since I usually only make this for myself.
And instead of the herbs and spices they recommend, I just use Mrs. Dash or any other similar seasoning.
Everything else is to the T. And I calculated it out once and it came to 348 calories. Which isn't bad since McDonald's large fries are 500+ calories.
Hope that helps!0 -

I drink a LOT of water the week prior. And any salt, sweet cravings I have I hold off. If I'm hungry I wait and see if it is a craving or if I really do need it and go from their. I'll have a glass of H2O first.0
